A really great ticket to see Reigate cricket!

On 25th May 2024, the Company was blessed with perfect weather for our informal Plumbers’ lunch at Reigate Priory Cricket Club (RPCC), as the Master, accompanied by Mistress Kathy, was joined by a mix of Liverymen and guests.

On arrival, we enjoyed a glass downstairs while the match got underway, before making our way up to the mezzanine floor for a hearty two-course hot buffet lunch.

The Master welcomed a special guest speaker Andy Packham, RPCC President, and his wife Gill. Andy talked amusingly about the history of the club, and the Master was able to mention that a footnote in Andy’s book, on the history of the RPCC, which mentions a certain Louis Adams, the Master’s son, scoring a century for the club some years ago! Louis was present at lunch, and hiding his blushes.

The event pulled in many members with their families, including Past Master Nick Jones with his wife Kala and granddaughter Ella. Also present were Upper Warden Charles Brooks and wife Penny and Renter Warden Sandra Raines and Liveryman husband Ian. We were also pleased to be joined by a new Liveryman at one of his first events, Donald Barron, with his wife Lesley.

After lunch, we enjoyed watching the RPCC 1st XI v Esher match.

The Master was pleased to be able to bring together friends from his circle in the Reigate area, with the Plumbers, to enjoy a relaxed and very pleasant day chatting and watching first class cricket.

Thanks go to all who helped make this event happen including the Clerk, Sarah Tye from RPCC, and Kieron Robathan of Kieron’s Kitchen. Special thanks to Court Assistant Michael Cooper for helping on the day as an Hon. Steward!
