Inter-Livery Clay Shoot – 14 May 2025
The Worshipful Company of Plumbers was once again proudly represented at the Inter-Livery Charity Clay Shoot held at West London Shooting School, Northolt, Middlesex on 14 May 2025. Our dedicated team, fondly known as the Traditionals, continued their upward trajectory in the results table and enjoyed a wonderful day of friendly competition and charitable giving.

Penny and Simon Lead the Charge in Charity Clay Shoot
The WCoP team, made up of **Liverymen Jamie Fisher, Simon Malik, Penny Malik, and the Master, Charles Brooks, have now represented the Company together for three consecutive years. Their camaraderie and commitment to the event have made them familiar faces among fellow Livery competitors. This year saw Penny and Simon lead the Plumbers’ efforts with an impressive 50 out of 75, placing equal 91st out of 448 individual shooters.

A special congratulations goes to Penny Malik, who was awarded 3rd Lady Individual Shooter across both days of the competition—a fantastic achievement!

In the team results, the Plumbers ranked 17th out of 76 Livery-only teams and 22nd overall out of 112 teams, including those with non-Livery guests. This marks another year of strong progress, building on previous performances and demonstrating consistent improvement from our skilled representatives.
Charity, Camaraderie, and Cadets
The Inter-Livery Charity Clay Shoot, first held in 1993, continues to raise significant funds for worthy causes. This year, donations were made to the Lord Mayor’s Appeal, The Prince’s Trust, The Sheriffs’ and Recorder’s Fund, and the Gamekeepers Welfare Trust.
The event, superbly organised by Chris Parr (Environmental Cleaners) and Richard Ferrand (Fishmongers), was hosted with professionalism and style by the West London Shooting School team. Proceedings concluded with a fine lunch, cheerfully served by local Army Cadets, adding a delightful and respectful touch to the day.
We would be delighted to hear from any other Members of the Company who shoot shotguns and would be interested in joining next year’s team. The Clay Shoot is not only a sporting highlight but also a meaningful opportunity to connect with fellow Liverymen and support charitable endeavours through the unique spirit of the City of London.
