Martin was an Honorary Liveryman of our Company and marvellous supporter over many years.

Martin sponsored many of our activities including the Annual Banquet, our Corporate Membership Scheme and the Annual Livery Sailing Regatta. He was well known within the Plumbers Company and it was always a great pleasure to see Martin and his wife, Frankie, at our events.

He will be, perhaps, best remembered in the Plumbers Company for providing excellent racing yachts for the Inter Livery Sailing Regattas over many years. As a result of his generosity, we were awarded silverware on many occasions.

Martin was a close colleague of Past Masters Mike Samuel and Chris Sneath with whom he shared many of our events and dinners. He was also a Past Master of the Worshipful Company of Lightmongers.

Professionally, Martin dedicated more than 50 years to Gratte Brothers and played a pivotal role in the growth and development of the organisation. His steadfast commitment helped shape the business into the leading M&E company it is today. Both Mike and Chris worked with Martin for many years and enjoyed great working relations and partnership, Chris as a fellow director when his company merged with Gratte Brothers.

Martin will be fondly remembered for his cheerfulness and generosity by all who knew him in the Plumbers Company. We send our sincere condolences to Frankie and the rest of the Gratte family during this difficult time.
