GOLF – Plumbers’ Golf Society – SPRING MEETING at Wildernesse Golf Club 10 April 2025
The Plumbers’ Golf Society (PGS) held their Spring Meeting on Thursday 10th April 2025 at the lovely Wildernesse course near Seal in Kent.

The weather was kind and the 18 players – including The Master on a welcome visit in his busy year – set forth after bacon rolls and coffee in the lounge.
We also welcomed on debut new PGS Members Alex Wilson and Sean Conboy as well as regular guests Simon Harden and Nick Ware.
The Wildernesse Club was founded in 1890 and has hosted many prestigious golf tournaments and has been selected by The R&A as a Regional Qualifying Course for The Open.
The par 72 course meanders through mature woodland and the holes, especially the 4 par 3s are a tough challenge reflected in the slope rating of 142.
The small and undulating greens set a particular challenge for our band of happy golfers.
- Winner of the nearest the pin on the par 3 5th hole (above) – David Hannam
- Winner of the nearest the pin on the par 3 10th hole – Simon Harden
- Winner of the nearest the pin on the par 3 13th hole – Richard Harvey
- Winner of the nearest the pin on the par 3 15th hole – Graham Setterfield
With a range of handicaps and ability, we ran three stableford competitions split into handicap divisions:
Winner Division 1 – Richard Harvey 39pts (Runner up – Simon Harden 37pts)
Winner Division 2 – Paul Nash 42 pts (Runner up – David Hannam 40pts)
Winner Division 3 – The Plumbers Challenge – Sean Conboy 34pts (Runner up – Nick Jones 24pts)
The golf was a followed by a welcome carvery lunch preceded by the prize giving conducted by our PGS Chairman Paul Nash.
Our next PGS meeting is our Annual Golf Day at New Zealand Golf Club on Thursday 24th July 2025.
