Company News

The Brigantes, City of London Liverymen in the North, held their annual Christmas Gathering for 2025 in the beautiful spa town of Buxton, entertained by the world famous Brighouse & Rastrick Band.

Immediate Past Master Charles Brooks and Penny Brooks, Past Master and Brigante Paul Nash and Sue Nash enjoyed a fabulous afternoon and evening in Buxton in the beautiful Peak District for the Brigantes’ Annual Winter Gathering. We met first in the Octagon Room at the Pavilion Gardens for a brief AGM, which was followed by an interesting lecture given by Mike Higginbothom on “Taking the Waters, the History of Spas and Hydros” – a fascinating insight into their past across the whole country.

After a drinks reception and supper, we moved next door to the iconic and stunning Buxton Opera House for a fabulous concert by the Brighouse & Rastrick Band. The band has just won the 2025 competition as the best band in England (again!) and will represent the country in Europe next year.
