Raise the Roof – A Special Charity Evening with Jools Holland
Jools Holland accompanied by Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall gave us a very special exclusive performance at Fishmongers’ Hall to raise money to refurbish the roof at St Magnus the Martyr, our company church, which we share with the Fishmongers Company. And the excellent St Magnus choir sang too! We raised over £106,000!

We had a fabulous evening at Fishmongers’ Hall. It was arranged as a special thank you to Father Philip Warner and the staff at St Magnus for the support they gave following the tragic stabbings at Fishmongers’ Hall in 2019. Following a champagne reception, and a welcome from the Fishmongers’ Prime Warden, Sir Alan Yarrow, Dr Peter Rumley, our Master, introduced Jools Holland who gave us a stunning personal performance while we sat at our tables. Singers Ruby Turner and Louise Marshall joined him on stage and we were entertained royally for 45 minutes. After Jools took questions from the audience, the St Magnus choir sang some beautiful songs before we tucked into a sumptuous 3-course dinner.
With matched funding from the City of London Diocese Fund, some private personal donations and all the proceeds from the evening, the sum of £106,000 will pay for the bulk of the refurbishment of the church roof.
You can watch an edited highlight of the evening here for you to enjoy it again or for the first time if you didn’t join us.
