Plumbers impress again at the Inter Livery Charity Clay Shoot
On Wednesday 13 May 2026, Liverymen Jamie Fisher, Penny Malik, Simon Malik and Immediate Past Master Charles Brooks represented The Worshipful Company of Plumbers at the Inter Livery Charity Clay Shoot, held at the West London Shooting School, Northolt, Middlesex. Now shooting together for the fourth consecutive year as the “Traditionals”, the Plumbers’ team once again improved its standing in this popular inter-livery event, continuing a steady upward progression and proudly flying the flag for the Company in good humour, determined spirit and, at times, extremely challenging weather.
Liverymen Jamie Fisher, Penny Malik, Simon Malik and Immediate Past Master Charles Brooks were selected to be the Plumbers Team at the Inter Livery Charity Clay Shoot ( Inter Livery Shoot | Inter Livery Charity Clay Shoot | England ) held at the West London Shooting School at Northolt, Middlesex on Wednesday 13 May 2026.
This is the fourth year running that the same team (The “Traditionals“) has performed in the Match, and each time we have improved our position.
For the record there were 109 teams competing over the two days of the event – we came 16th (up from 22nd, 41st and 59th in 2025, 2024 and 2023). Of the 438 individuals Jamie came 76th (with 53 ex 80), Simon and Penny 92nd (each with 52) and Charles 139th (with 48). Penny came a brilliant 8th in the Top Lady Gun competition.
The event was shot over 12 stands with 6 shots each and 2 flushes (a 2-man and a 4-man one when lots of clays are launched over you). Each of Jamie, Penny and Simon shot brilliantly with a number of maximum hits at the various stands.
The event finished with a barbecue lunch for all competitors and hosts and prize giving. Penny followed up her impressive shooting performance by winning one of the raffle prizes. Our thanks go to the organisers, particularly Chris Parr and his team, for putting on an exceptional event that was enjoyed by all.
The previous two years saw us performing in polo shirts in fantastic weather, warm with blue skies all day. This year the weather got its own back on us with a very heavy shower shortly as we started shooting and then, just after we had managed to dry off, it poured down again with heavy hail as we shot our last two stands! The lengths we Plumbers will go to, in order to represent and promote the Company!
We welcome Members of the Livery who are interested in shooting clays to contact us personally or via the Clerk. In addition to the occasional social shoot, we run a friendly Members, family and friends’ day at Bisley in Surrey in the first part of the year, and it would be great to be able to enter a second team in the Inter Livery Charity event.
