Nepal Floods – Plumbers Charity Support to Aquabox
Following our Charity’s emergency donation to Aquabox, along with its support to the DOLMA Foundation, we have received the following thank you from Roger Cassidy, the Aquabox chairman:
Thank you so much for your supportive email and your generous donation to Aquabox for our response to Nepal. Like yourselves, Aquabox have many close links with communities in Nepal and it has been heartbreaking to hear of the great suffering and losses to life that have been experienced as a result of the floods Fortunately we had a quantity of Aquaboxes already pre-positioned in Kathmandu when the floods started and our partners have ensured that this has been distributed into the communities impacted by the floods. However in view of the magnitude of this disaster, we know that more needs to be done and we are working with our international partners as well as those on the ground in Nepal to airfreight a large consignment of family and community filters to Nepal once we have set up a secure supply route. I’ve been working with our logistics team and we have prepared a shipment of 1260 family filters and 15 community filters all set to go. This consignment will be able to meet the water needs of over 18,000 This has all been made possible thanks to the generous support of our friends and supporters. We are working hard to keep the website updated as the story unfolds but please pass on our heartfelt thanks to the Plumbers Charity for this extra donation and I hope we can meet up in the near future so that I thank you personally and update you on our latest developments and disaster responses.
Best wishes
Roger Cassidy
