Our Day at Amberley

Tea/Coffee (10 – 10:30) Welcome from the Master Introduction to the Museum from Mike Swallow PMWT Chair History Group – Michael Cooper Illustrated talk on Stained Glass from Sarah Knighton.

Itinerary

10:00 – 10:30 AM – Arrival, welcome tea and coffee in the Hayloft

10:30 – 11:30 AM – Welcome from the master

·        Introduction to the museum from Mike Swallow PMWT chair and the History Group Michael Cooper

11:30 – Guests will be divided into two groups and will swap activities after after lunch:

·        Group A: Hands on Lead Casting in the plumbers workshop (aka the gin building)

·        Group B: Demonstration of Glass Making

Our Guest Speaker – Sarah Knighton Sarah will be giving us an illustrated talk on Stained Glass, followed by a hands on workshop. She is the Studio Manager and Senior Stained Glass Conservator, Painter and Glazier at Holy Well Glass www.holywellglass.com in the cathedral city of Wells, where she has worked since 2008. in 2016 she was awarded the Glaziers’ Company“ New glass artist of the year”

12:30 PM – Buffet lunch in the Hayloft

1:30 PM – Switch Groups

2:30 PM – Bus ride for the whole group

Afternoon Free time to explore the museum’s exhibits at your leisure
