Christmas Carols at St Magnus The Martyr

Recent events

On 4th December 2024, the Master Plumber Charles Brooks and his Mistress Penny Brooks welcomed Liverymen and their guests to the Christmassy setting of our Company Church, St. Magnus the Martyr, for our annual Carol Service.

This popular event was well attended by over 70 Liverymen and their guests and started with mulled wine and delicious mince pies, made specially for the occasion by Penny Brooks!

This was followed by a wonderful service of carols and readings, led by our Company Chaplain and Liveryman Fr. Philip Warner, with support from the church choir and readings by the Master and other Company members.

The serious business of socialising then followed together with a substantial buffet supper served by our splendid team of Stewards, which gave everyone the opportunity to mingle.

Due to a change in approach by Steward Gary Lester, the buffet was commented upon by many as a great improvement on previous years and at a reduced cost for attendees!

Finally, it was time to go home, after a merry evening of fellowship with friends.
